“ This is basically a good old fashion diner. Service is friendly, food comes out hot and prices aren't too bad. They even have a small senior citizen menu for anyone over 55 yrs. old. I had an omelette with mushrooms, spinach and cheese. Pretty skimpy on the mushrooms and cheese and the omelette was a little overdone. I paid $2 extra to get a grandma pancake instead of toast. Not sure why the up charge, but I wanted to taste the pancake. It was a nice, fluffy pancake. My friend got one of the Benedict's. She said it was good. Got timely coffee refills. Nothing gourmet, but a good, casual neighborhood breakfast place. ”

“ My husband and I decided to have breakfast at Brothers after our church service and walk around Lake Murray. We haven't been for over a year and we were looking forward to their amazing home cooking. I always get liver and onions if it's on the menu and it is there so I had liver smothered with onions and two slices of bacon and mashed potatoes with gravy and mixed vegetables. I was voracious so I ate the whole thing. I would've liked more onions smothered on it so I rationed the onions that came with it so I could have onions with every single bite. My husband was entice by many things on the menu and decided upon the turkey on rye with sauerkraut and cheese, and he chose the side of sweet potato waffle fries. He was extremely happy with the taste and quantity and quality of his meal as was I. We would've liked to have a rhubarb and a banana cream pie, but They were all out. We really didn't have room in our tummies anyway. Every single employee smiles and was there to serve the customer and Phil any iced tea or water that is even beginning to empty. They think of everything here and the customer is treated right ”

“ I've been on the lookout for a homey, quality breakfast place, where both the sweet and savory options are delicious, and the food speaks for itself-- and Brother's is the one. Walking in felt like popping into a low-key place in the Midwest, in the best way, since it was chock full of regulars who gabbed with the servers and asked after their kids. I got the country scramble with eggs, bacon, ham, sausage and cheese topped with gravy, which was flavorful and stuck to my ribs without feeling too heavy. The country potatoes are a must for the side-- crispy and well-seasoned. And that gravy got the seal of approval from my Southern boyfriend, who said it tasted like what he's had in South Carolina! You can sub a pancake for the toast for a reasonable upcharge, which gave me the best of both worlds. He got the Brother's Big 3 - a great value with 3 eggs, 3 pieces of 3 different meats, 3 pancakes... all for $16.99! Every single item was cooked perfectly, the bacon and ham were both thick, quality cuts. And of course, the pancakes melt in your mouth and have a touch of savory flavor and tang that make each bite intriguing (guessing from the buttermilk). I'm so impressed by Brother's, because it's hard to make seemingly straight-forward food that isn't one-note, is packed with flavor, has quality ingredients, and is actually affordable. Needless to say, we'll be back to keep eating our way through the menu! ”

“ Our go to breakfast spot used to be Perry's in old town before they closed sadly. So we've been looking for a breakfast spot that can replace them. We've tried multiple different breakfast restaurants around San Diego and none of them could even come close to Perry's except for brothers family restaurant in allied gardens. We've been here twice so far and the food has been pretty good. Definitely going to be coming back to try new items. ”

“ If you want the best pancakes in the world come here and get grandma Jennie's pancakes absolutely phenomenal. My go to is the big brothers. Three you get bacon ham and sausage eggs and three pancakes. You can choose your type of pancakes or regular or Grandma Jennie's pancakes. I also add hashbrowns because I split with my wife. They actually split, our breakfast on different plates for us. It was so convenient and so unexpected but such a wonderful thing to have done for us. The place is amazing. The hashbrowns are perfect. The service is exceptional. Brothers is family diner. This is the place I always go to when I want to take somebody for breakfast, even my niece loves the pancakes here my wife adore them. They actually hold well too. If you don't finish your pancakes, definitely take them to go put the butter and syrup on them. It's fire. It's incredibly good. The food is your dish to make it more affordable, but you get what you pay for this place is top five stars all the way. ”

“ My family stopped by on a Monday morning and were immediately seated. Our servers were very kind and slept making sure to check on us, even asking if our toddler wanted a booster seat or not. The restaurant is very specious and clean, giving a very homey, small-town vibe that's very warm and welcoming. We ordered our meals and were very happy with what we got. They have a variety of options to choose from, and we all chose something from the breakfast menu. Our toddler got the kids French toast, which was a good amount of food that we all took a few bites from. I personally got the farmers breakfast skillet with house potatoes and loved every bite. The potatoes were very well seasoned and the skillet had a variety of great flavors, with a great crunch coming from the mixed veggies. This is a great spot for either a hearty or sweet breakfast treat! ”
